Jez & Anne met at school in their hometown of Scarborough and both moved to London at the age of 19. Following different career paths (Anne as a PA & Jez in the Restaurant trade), they spent a total of 23 years in London. Jez started at the Dorchester Hotel working under Anton Mossiman, progressing to working for some of the country’s leading Michelin star chefs, culminating in him earning a Michelin star at Quo Vadis under Marco Pierre White. During this time Anne, whilst working as a PA for various companies landed her dream job at L’Oreal Head Office in Kensington as PA to the Mangement Resourcement Manager. In the following years the couple backpacked around the world & raised their 2 boys, Marcus & Bradley.
Upon returning to London Jez, as Director of several pubs in London, was awarded with ‘Time Out Gastro Pub of the Year’ for The House, Islington 2004. During their time in London they also spent 2 years running restaurants in Singapore & Hong Kong.
In 2009 they moved back to Scarborough enabling them to open their first restaurant together – Jeremy’s in Scarborough. Finding a niche in the market they offered a family run restaurant with unpretentious locally sourced confident cooking for which they gained ‘Yorkshire Life Neighbourhood Restaurant of the Year’ and 8 years consecutively in the Michelin Guide.
After 10 successful years they then decided to move on to their new venture – Jeremy’s Bespoke Private Dining.
